a little of this and a little of that...

Hi, as I sit here and type this, there is an ad for a new TV series that has music from The Black Keys album, Brothers. The next time you see the ad for "the Glades", listen. I love it. the album is awesome. makes me want to listen to it. I found them on the Eclipse sountrack. the song Chop n Change plays at the very beginning of the movie.

I highly recommend you check out the newest album. It really is good. Here is the link to the Amazon page where you can preview. Let me know what you think and if you get it.

So, enough of that. =) I really do want to see Eclipse again. Loved it. I've been really busy the last few weeks. My birthday was last Tuesday, the 29th, so I couldn't see the debut of Eclipse on opening night, but that's ok. My wonderful hubby took me to dinner at my fav Japanese Steakhouse. We rented Avatar and I opened my gift. I was so excited. I got a new E NOOK from Barnes and Noble. I totally LOVE IT!!!!!!! I've read one book already, The Opposite of Me(hated that it ended, really enjoyed it), and I'm on my second, The Vintage Affair. it's the coolest techie gadget yet, next to my ipod and my blackberry. =)

I hate to say it but I celebrated my birthday for almost an entire week.. heehee =) My friends and I went out to dinner and to see Eclipse on Thursday, then on Friday I had a birthday crop..all day cropping with friends and family. That was fun. Then on Saturday, I had the grand finale... a bunch of my friends and family came out for the fireworks and to watch my husbands band play. It was soooooooooo much fun. But, I must say, the drinks were going down way too well.. I wasn't feeling very good the next morning. Ack! the price to pay I suppose. haven't went overboard like that in a long time.

a few pics from Saturday night.

That's a quick summary of what I've been up to. In addition to my birthday week, I have been doing some scrappy stuff. I signed up at BPS for two classes. I'm loving them.

Big Picture Scrapbooking

I must say that I'm really, really wanting a new SLR camera after starting the Picture Summer class... I'm on the fence. A Nikon D5000 or a D90. Decisions, decisions. if you have a fav, please share. I'm still researching. =)

And a little shout out to my pal LEA. She is a Fav this week over at Sketchy Thursdays. She ROCKS!!!!!

Well, I've been very chatty today. That is what happens when I go over a week without a post. I will leave you with a few layouts I did last Friday.

This is my great niece. Used a Studio Calico kit, Partly Sunny, and a sketch from July Pagemaps.

This is my cousins. using some new LYB I bought.

and lastly a pic of little ole me as a baby. I used more of my Studio Calico kit, Granny's Cupboard. the sketch is from the SC blog.
